Catamaran Cruisers is proud to manufacture boats that are easy to buy, easy to enjoy, and easy to maintain. This simple philosophy guides our business from the way we interact with customers to the smallest details of how our boats are built. I’m going to explain each of these in depth over the course of the next few blog posts. For today, we’ll take a look at why our boats are easy to buy.
Nobody likes the feeling you get when you walk on a car lot and the salespeople (sharks) start circling. High pressure sales techniques are not what we’re about here. Many of our customers have been researching and thinking about a houseboat for a while, even years in some cases. They have a pretty good idea what they’re looking for, and have explored the costs involved. Others are just starting the process and eager to learn everything they can. Either way, our goal is to answer your questions and provide you the necessary details to make an informed decision when you purchase your boat.
So where do we start? Price is obviously the predominant factor. Our houseboats start at just under $54,000 for our 8’ x 31’ Lil’ Hobo. That’s the base price. But we build out our boats to meet the needs of the individual customer, so that amount will obviously increase with the options you choose. Not everyone needs a motor or a trailer. Not everyone wants an air conditioner or a water slide. Our first job is to get to know our customers and understand where and how they will be using their houseboat. Together, we can create a boat that gives you everything you need without piling on the things you don’t.
The next question usually has to do with how to pay for the boat. Not everyone has the funds or the desire to pay cash for their boat. Fortunately, financing for houseboats is readily available. We can recommend a lender (many of our customers use Trident Funding), or you may prefer to shop around and find your own. Because our houseboats are custom built, we require a non-refundable deposit equal to 1/3 of the purchase price. The balance is due before delivery.
Speaking of delivery, that’s another concern for most people. How do we get our boats from middle Tennessee to your location? There are a couple of options. If you buy a trailerable model like our Lil’ Hobo, you can pick it up yourself. If you need your boat delivered, we can do that too. Costs will vary depending on your location, but we have a professional driver who will deliver your new boat safely to your location. We deliver to buyers from Florida to Oregon, and can even make arrangements for international purchasers.
More than likely, you still have questions. We’d love to help. The best thing to do is give us a call during our normal business hours at 1-(800) 365-1255. We’re open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. CDT. You can also request information on our website. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Be sure to keep an eye out for our next post where we’ll explain the reasons our boats are easy to enjoy…
